  • Iceveil

Iceveil is a pure ice clan based in the Ice Citadel. They're known for being Justices, or Guards. History ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ In 2871, Judge Nievis was awarded the right to found a clan for their family of reputable, skilled Justices. Virtually all Iceveils serve in the Guard for their mandatory service. Clan Trait ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Iceveils are colored with bright blues, forming markings that look akin to glaciers. These are most prominent on their wings and horns, but also trail like gusts along their bodies. They are also easily recognized by their mask-like markings. Elements ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Iceveil is a pure ice clan, believing in the concept of elemental purity. Trade ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Iceveil is known as a Justice clan, with some percentage of its members staying in the Guard after mandatory service. Reproduction and Eggs ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Iceveil accepts only contracts and the odd romance-union from families of pure ice lineage, and should a non-ice egg be produced, they are rejected from the clan. Iceveil selects eggs showing their glacier patterns. • Iron Crown

Iron Crown is a recent, small-family clan consisting of the relatives of Elder Guardian Arcadier. History ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Iron Crown was founded in 2935 by Arcadier upon her achievement of Guardianhood. While not interested in clanhood herself, Arcadier founded the clan simply to elevate her daughter's future family and ensure their wellbeing. Clan Trait ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ While the clan does not select traits, they are known for their crown of horns, a trait they share with Guardian Arcadier - the clan's namesake. They mainly have near-black horns and plates. Elements ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ While primarily Electric, Iron Crown has some Earth, Fire, and Water members. Their variants are standard and blue electricity, grey earth, yellow fire, and light/dark blue water. Trade ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ While Iron Crown members serve in the Army or Guard for their required service and some even stay, Iron Crown lives comfortably by Guardian Arcadier's coin - as she insists not to have much use of it herself. All the children are put through Temple education, and many still choose to work despite not needing to. • Saarus

Commander Saarus is the third son of General Tordner, and one of Commander Lynerius' younger brothers. He commands the 9th Regiment. Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Serious and stoic, though not quite to the level of his elder brother. Among his siblings, Saarus takes the most after their father. Similarly to his patriarch, Saarus is a known womanizer - though perhaps erroneously so. Saarus is known for being seen with a new woman every few weeks, but he commits to exclusive and romantic relationships with them. They just don't work out, despite his efforts to develop a long term relationship. Stormbringer stoicism proves ill-suited for romance. He is also arguably naive, as he engages with women more interested in his status than himself. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Saarus was the first child born to Tordner outside his union to Levina; an arrangement pushed by then-Matriarch Lyneris due to concerns raised over Styrmer's mental capacity. This fundemental difference in his immediate family was the first thing he remembered of his life; that he was different. Though raised by Levina, he knew she was not his mother. She did not treat him the same as she did his older half-siblings, and neither did Lynerius and Tordena treat him with the same love they did Styrmer. As such, Saarus maintained a certain distance. His full sister, Lynis, was born a year after him, but they did not develop an especially close bond. Lynis seemed content with solitude and distant relationships, while Saarus only desired what he could not have. During his flight years, Saarus was bullied by other leading clan children for his half dark markings, attributing to him the nickname 'half-blood Stormbringer'. Like the rest of his family, Saarus enlisted in the Army after his Temple education, and has remained in this profession since. Through his family's intense training regimens and his own desire to belong, he reached Class 4 before joining the Army, then Class 5 in his early 50's. He is projected to reach Adept in the future. Magic Unlike many Stormbringers, Saarus still maintains basic mastery over non-elemental magic - mostly just to appreciate his vivid, emerald magic. Physical Saarus is taller than average, with an athletic, muscular build earned through rigorous training and battle. Relationships ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Lynerius Saarus has a strained relationship to his eldest brother. They were never particularly close, and this turned worse when Lynerius brought Hayze home. Saarus did not keep his disapproval to himself - something his son, Zaerus, picked up on. Zaerus turned to harrassing Hayze whenever possible, and Saarus did 'not enough' to curb this behavior. Zaerus Saarus took a contract as a clan obligation, not much due to personal interest. He found it difficult to bond with his son - especially due to his profession getting in the way. As a teenager now, Saarus finds his son to be a bit of a prick. Gallery ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Page written by DragonOfIceAndFire

  • Solsticus

Solsticus is the current Commander of the 1st District, and the Heir to the leading fire clan, Golden Flare . Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Lynerius has described Solsticus as two-faced, someone who fakes a friendly demeanor to those he can use, including his own mother. This behavior he extended to Hayze also, despite his contempt for dark dragons, to appease Lynerius in hopes of a strong ally. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Solsticus was not the firstborn child to Solari . He is her third child; the younger brother of Soleni , and an older brother who died young before Solsticus was born. Solsticus was given the same name as that brother. Though Soleni is alive and Solari's firstborn - and firstborns are ideally Clan Heirs - she is lame and cannot walk nor fly. This is due to a disease that developed as she matured. Though she was raised to become Matriarch, due to her condition she was unnamed Heir in favor of Solsticus. Thanks to his access to the best training a fire dragon could get, he advanced quickly. After discovering his element at 6, he reached Skilled by age 34. Here, however, he would prove to not progress further. As it turned out, the more important quality for his work was his way with people, not his strength. Though unable to progress further, he maintains his current mastery. Magic After hitting a wall with his element, Solsticus turned to Magic to fill the void. He advanced slower here due to his desire to maintain his elemental mastery, and reached Intermediate at age 61. Though he could reach higher if he allowed his element to decline, he favors Fire to Magic and chooses to maintain this balance. Physical Solsticus is slightly taller than average for a fire dragon. He is somewhat athletic, but notably of a sleeker build. He is short-sighted and has to wear glasses constantly. Relationships ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Solari Solsticus is loved by his mother. Though she wishes her firstborn could be heir in his place, she stands by him. Yet at the same time, she is haunted by his darker secrets, and fears his politics. In the other direction, Solsticus is kind and considerate of his mother, though some would say this is a farce, manipulation. Soleni Solsticus also treats his sister with respect and compassion, helping her around and doting on her. Soleni finds this a little excessive, but accepts it. She does not feel the gestures are genuine, but elects to not antagonize him. Tokamis Solsticus' young betrothed. To be added. Trivia ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ His name is based on the word 'Solstice'. His name being inherited from his deceased brother is based on my (DragonOfIceAndFire) own family. My maternal great grandmother named one of her sons after a son she had lost before him. • Isolda

Isolda is a Frostspear , a younger sister of Frossar , clutch-sister of Skadin , and aunt to Vitreus , Frostir , Isra , and more. She is a Master of Magic, an impressive position for her age. Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Largely unknown. She's not reserved against corporeal punishment towards her deranged nephew, Frostir, but displays considerable kindness to Vitreus. She knows him well enough to understand when he's acting aloof or rude to protect himself. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Isolda was born to Isrun , the current Frostspear Matriarch, in her third clutch. Her father was a clanless purple ice dragon, contracted to Isrun in a failed attempt to introduce purple ice into the Frostspear family. Isolda was in a clutch of two, with her hatching hours before her clutch brother, Skadin . Because of her coloration, she was hoped to possess purple ice like her father. When her element presented however, it was white, and an event that should have been exciting and joyful, was met with utter disappointment from her family. This permanently damaged Isolda's relationship to her element, and caused her to lean heavily on magic. Isolda attended the Warfang City temple for her education (2957 - 2975), then joined the Guard immediately out of military training, although she only served a few years past her mandatory service, then left service to pursue magic. Over the years, she attained impressive mastery in magic, enough to be awarded the title of Master of Magic by the Warfang Council. Abilities ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Element Isolda discovered her element at the age of 7. Due to the family's disappointment over her element's common coloration, she began to hate her ice, frequently refusing to use it. She did not reach Controlled before the age of 25 due to obligatory military training. In the Guard, her abilities came to good use with restraining and depletion magic, and her training continued albeit much of her time went into the Guard. When she quit the Guard rather suddenly and dove into magic studies however, her mastery rose fast, until she attained Proficient already at age 63. • Stormbringer

One of the main five clans, the Stormbringer family is the leading electric clan in Warfang, known for their overwhelming numbers of accomplished soldiers. As one of the leading clans, Stormbringer has a seat on the Warfang Council and represents electric dragons. Most of the clans allied to them are electric clans. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Before achieving clan status, Stormbringers were a family of soldiers known for their storm-colored scales. They were powerful, accomplished soldiers. The founder, Lynaricus, became the most notable in the family for their high elemental mastery, and for achieving the rank of General, which resulted in their family achieving clan status in 2512 - although the family records date back to the 2000's. The clan took on the name given to its members on the battlefield, 'storm bringers'. Stormbringer has since been a renowned clan of soldiers, with only the odd black sheep choosing different professions. Nevertheless, every Stormbringer serves in the army at some point, often at the unspoken threat of being exiled from the clan. Most Stormbringers remain in the army for the rest of their lives, often attaining the rank of Commander, or even General. As such, the clan became known as the army clan, and for such a significant influence in the army, and for their numbers and wealth, Stormbringer replaced the current leading electric clan in 2689. Clan Trait ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ The identifiable trait of a Stormbringer is the 'storm scale', storm-colored scales. A Stormbringers scales features a mix of greys, blacks, and light greys, a trait virtually unheard of among other electric dragons. They sport frills and rough horns, their element colors displayed in elemental markings and membranes. This dragon unified with the Matriarch at the time, and the impurity was not discovered until her grandchildren developed pale electricity. Despite this, the line of heirs continued, and the risk of fire eggs among clutches has been bred out, though the pale electricity remains strong. Stormbringers can have any variant of electricity, but lacks earth impurity to produce green electricity. Despite the ability to introduce 'purified' green electricity, the clan has elected to avoid it. Trade ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Stormbringers are almost exclusively soldiers, with few choosing other professions. The culture within the clan strongly discourages other trades, but readily makes exceptions for Guardians and Templars. Very few Stormbringers have accepted an invitation into the Guard, and those that did did not find their Clan's approval. Reproduction and Eggs ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Stormbringer commonly engages in reproduction contracts, choosing partners from other accomplished military clans/families with strong electric abilities. Depending on the current leader, some romantic unions may be refused if the non-Stormbringer does not meet the above criteria. From reproduction contracts, Stormbringer takes all eggs bearing the storm scale trait. Most other eggs are yielded to the other clan, if any. General Wysta is the Matriarch of Earthwood , the leading earth clan, and a member of the Warfang Council. Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Wysta is a soldier through and through, stoic and coldblooded, ruling her Division and Clan with an iron fist. • Therris

Master Therris is one of the many Masters of Education working at Warfang Temple, and currently Hayze 's Flight Master. Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Therris is a caring and wise dragon, demonstrating traits of an understanding and an extremely kind nature. Unlike most, Therris doesn’t judge a character by their appearance, as shown by her indifference to Hayze being a dark dragon. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Although most of her past is unknown, Therris pursued further studies to become a Master of Education . Her current flight is not her first, as Therris has previously assisted in teaching another flight whilst studying for her degree, and has had one other flight previously. (Destiny Intertwined - Chapter 1) In 3006, Therris has been given her second flight to teach and guide for the next years to come. Within her flight, Hayze, a shadow dragon, was enrolled. Despite the insensitive questions or comments some of her students had about Hayze and dark dragons on their first day, Therris discouraged her students from thinking this way and treated Hayze equally. (Destiny Intertwined - Chapter 2) Ongoing. Abilities ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Element Therris discovered her element at 7, then achieved Controlled at age 15. Her mastery hasn't, and is not projected to exceed this. Magic Therris preferred Magic in her own Temple years, and continued slowly advancing her abilities during her studies and training to become a Dragon Master of Education. Rayne is a Warfang City Temple student, a Year Ten student under Master Therris . Personality ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ Rayne's personality is very much similar to his twin sister's, with Rayne being more reserved and quieter. Wary, rather than curious in nature. History ⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺ (Destiny Intertwined - Chapter 1) In 3006, Hydris and Ranye arrived at the temple of Warfang alongside other young dragons of their age, handed off under the care of Master Therris. Their family and flight identifies them either by the slight differences in their spots, or their mannerisms. Neither of them feel strongly about their gender, leaning masculine/feminine but not non-binary, nor male/female. They don't mind gendered pronouns/language. Their family thinks this has to do with the fact that they shared the same egg but are different sexes, leaving their minds and spirits 'in the middle'. Or, it is simply because they're so used to being referred to as a single, gender-neutral entity, due to others' difficulty differentiating them.
