Commander Saarus is the third son of General Tordner, and one of Commander Lynerius' younger brothers. He commands the 9th Regiment.
Personality
⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺
Serious and stoic, though not quite to the level of his elder brother. Among his siblings, Saarus takes the most after their father.
Similarly to his patriarch, Saarus is a known womanizer - though perhaps erroneously so. Saarus is known for being seen with a new woman every few weeks, but he commits to exclusive and romantic relationships with them. They just don't work out, despite his efforts to develop a long term relationship. Stormbringer stoicism proves ill-suited for romance. He is also arguably naive, as he engages with women more interested in his status than himself.
History
⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺
Saarus was the first child born to Tordner outside his union to Levina; an arrangement pushed by then-Matriarch Lyneris due to concerns raised over Styrmer's mental capacity. This fundemental difference in his immediate family was the first thing he remembered of his life; that he was different. Though raised by Levina, he knew she was not his mother. She did not treat him the same as she did his older half-siblings, and neither did Lynerius and Tordena treat him with the same love they did Styrmer. As such, Saarus maintained a certain distance.
His full sister, Lynis, was born a year after him, but they did not develop an especially close bond. Lynis seemed content with solitude and distant relationships, while Saarus only desired what he could not have.
During his flight years, Saarus was bullied by other leading clan children for his half dark markings, attributing to him the nickname 'half-blood Stormbringer'.
Like the rest of his family, Saarus enlisted in the Army after his Temple education, and has remained in this profession since.

Element
Saarus discovered his element at 6 years old. Through his family's intense training regimens and his own desire to belong, he reached Class 4 before joining the Army, then Class 5 in his early 50's. He is projected to reach Adept in the future.
Magic
Unlike many Stormbringers, Saarus still maintains basic mastery over non-elemental magic - mostly just to appreciate his vivid, emerald magic.
Physical
Saarus is taller than average, with an athletic, muscular build earned through rigorous training and battle.

Relationships
⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺
Lynerius
Saarus has a strained relationship to his eldest brother. They were never particularly close, and this turned worse when Lynerius brought Hayze home. Saarus did not keep his disapproval to himself - something his son, Zaerus, picked up on. Zaerus turned to harrassing Hayze whenever possible, and Saarus did 'not enough' to curb this behavior.
Zaerus
Saarus took a contract as a clan obligation, not much due to personal interest. He found it difficult to bond with his son - especially due to his profession getting in the way. As a teenager now, Saarus finds his son to be a bit of a prick.
