Chief Isrun is the Matriarch of Clan Frostspear, the leading Ice Clan of Warfang, and the Chief of the Warfang Guard. Isrun is also the mother of Commander Frossar, Captain Skadin, and Master Isolda, as well as the grandmother of Vitreus, Isra, and Frostir, among others.

 Personality

Isrun is as cold and ruthless as her element. She's very vocal about her and her clan's disdain for dark dragons, often the tip of the spear when it comes to fearmongering over the Dark Lands. She is also cold towards her children, showing no concern when they are hurt in front of her eyes.

History

Isrun is the firstborn to the former Matriarch of Frostspear, Froszara, who passed in the year 3003, giving way for Isrun's reign.

Before this, Isrun at age 35 was arranged to unify with a dragon of another ice clan, Vitreis. By the time Isrun was 44 they had Unified and their firstborn son, Frossar, had hatched. Isrun had most of her children by Vitreis, except for Isolda and Skadin, who were the (failed) result of a contract breeding in attempt to introduce the Purple Ice variant into Frostspear's main lineage. 

Vitreis was three decades older than Isrun, but was a rather submissive man. Isrun walked all over him - he was good for making children that she didn't really want but could use, and little else. Vitreis spoiled his own children and 'forgot' the two that weren't his, and he was quiet when Isrun indoctrinated them all to her beliefs. Though Isrun made no attempts at romance, Vitreis was affectionate and she usually welcomed this - even if she was never particularly kind to him.

When Vitreis died to disease in 2999 at the age of 136, Isrun was saddened. She hadn't ever felt strongly about him but she had grown used to his presence and affection. When her grandson hatched the next year, in the Year of the Dragon, he had striking similarities to his late grandfather. Isrun decided the child would inherit Vitreis' name, and he was named Vitreus.
