Incendis is a student at the Warfang Temple and one of the dragons in Master Therris' Flight, and Kindra's clutch brother.
Personality

Incendis has the infamous temper of fire dragons. He's grumpy and easily set off, often butting heads with his parents, sister, and others his age such as Vitreus. He's picked up bad language from his parents in their screaming matches, and this often slips from him in settings where it should not, such as around his Flight Master, Therris.
Though a bit of a bully in his childhood years, especially towards Hayze, Incendis grew out of this through the influence of his other Flightmates, such as Hydris, Cerau, Quarris, and Terin. He is now indifferent towards Hayze and protective over most of his other Flightmates, excluding Vitreus and his own sister.
History

Incendis was born to Ignis and Lavis, alongside his clutch sister. They were an accidental pregnancy between their parents who had only just started dating. While neither of them were ready for or wanted children with the other, both begrudgingly stayed after being financially encouraged by Lavis' father, Kindros, an Army Commander.
Home life was rough. Ignis and Lavis were an incompatible pair and argued often, if not every day. Despite a mutual attempt to Unify and be together, both have cheated on their Unified more than once.
When only one parent is on deployment, the home is quieter, but both Incendis and Kindra end up in arguments with the remaining parent who takes out lingering frustrations on them by being unnecessarily strict and demanding.
While most of Kindra and Incendis' schooling fees are covered by their grandfather, they rarely get to see him due to his duties claiming most of his time. They don't feel like he is particularly interested in seeing them, regardless.
Incendis has struggled his whole life with an incredibly short temper, and he expresses other emotions with anger. Fear, sadness, anxiety, all shielded in thinly veiled 'masculine' outbursts. He struggles with feelings of inadequacy over not being able to control his emotions or his element, and though he has improved in this regard, he will put others down to feel better about himself.

As a child he took most of his frustrations out on his sister, mirroring the way their parents used each other as emotional punching bags. He would target her fears of being of green fire, a dark variant, to put her down and elevate himself. At the time neither of them understood the true impact this would have if it came to be. Nevertheless, Incendis was equally ostracized for this possibility, as Kindra was his sister, and he would distance himself from her.
Both became loudly opposed to dark dragons, whom they knew nothing about, as a defense against the accusations of dark impurity. When their Flight years started, this led to them flocking to Vitreus who immediately made an enemy of their flightmate of Shadow, Hayze.

Incendis, despite always trying extremely hard to discover his element, discovered his flame late at 9 years old. Despite his strong desire to have a powerful element, he is still unable to reach Controlled. This is due to a mix of him being unable to keep a clear head and focus on training, trying to brute-force mastery, and him not having a concrete reason for wanting strength, simply wanting it 'just because' and to impress others.

Incendis is able to cast a few, very simple spells, but magic is not his strong suit. His magic color takes after the color of his eyes.
Physical
Quite tall for a fire dragon his age, along with a decent build, Incendis has good physical prowess, as well as a high pain threshold.

Kindra
As siblings and clutchmates, the two behave as such; annoying each other to death, and stealing each other’s meals in secret. But overall, both care about each other.
Vitreus
As children, Incendis seemed to be close friends with Vitreus. As teens the fire siblings seem to still be Vitreus' aqcuainted out of the flight. However, Incendis has grown tired of Vitreus’ obsession and constant monitoring of Hayze. Even going as far as teasing Vitreus about it.
Hydris and Rayne
Incendis retains a positive relationship with both water twins, with him developing a secret crush on Hydris as a teen, with the latter being oblivious to it.
Hayze
Incendis as a child was more hostile towards Hayze, but in his teen years, he seems to be more neutral towards him. Not caring about the shadow dragon's daily activities unlike Vitreus.
Quarris
Incendis maintains positive relations with Quarris as teens, perhaps are even friends.

When Incendis was first drawn, he was drawn as a female. However, once his colors settled on a harsh pink, he was changed to male.
He was also not supposed to be related to Kindra, until their similarities emerged under the design process.
The name 'Incendis' is based on the word 'incendiary', 'incend' plus a feminine-neutral '-is' suffix.
