Arcadier is the Elder Guardian of Electricity, and one of the main power-figures of the Warfang Council, alongside Amberius, Terrenus, and Nivalis. She is considered the leader of the Elder Guardians, and as such often suspected to be the secret Elemental.

Arcadier is stern, she only speaks when she needs to and as much as she needs to. She has little patience for adults acting up, but is soft towards children.

History

Arcadier was born to a single mother, a soldier, in 2875. Her mother lost her life shortly before her hatching, leaving Arcadier orphaned. She was raised at the Concurrent Skies Temple.

At age 16, Arcadier chose to leave behind the overpopulated Temple orphanage, and joined the Army. Here, she like many other young early joiners were put mostly to menial, non-combat work like cleaning and running errands for officers - in return for virtually no coin, but food and board were provided. This she did not mind, but she showed an aptitude for combat and had an impressive control of her element. Thus, she saw combat in the Shattered Vale very young.

At age 46, she was among the first soldiers to encounter Dark Dragons as Warfang attempted to expand into the Dark Lands.

Two years later, she left military service to raise the daughter she had just had.

At age 49, she discoverd the Concurrent Skies Guardian of Electricity was selecting Apprentices. Not expecting much of it, she sought her out to present her case. To Arcadier's surprise, she was later selected as a Guardian Apprentice.

At age 71, after 12 years of Apprenticeship, she was among the Guardian's only two remaining Apprentices. Arcadier was chosen over the other, and became the new Guardian of Electricity at the Concurrent Skies Temple. Here, she later met Nivalis.

After 39 years of Guardianhood, Arcadier was eligiblie to become Elder after the death of the Elder Guardian of Electricity. The Guardian Order voted in favor of her, and she ascended to her current position as Elder Guardian of Electricity at the Ancestor Temple in Warfang City.

Arcadier comes from an old concept of the Elder Guardians based on a passing image in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night that depicts Malefor's Guardians. Her features were designed to be close to this depiction in shape, but details, colors, and character are original.

Around the time of this concept, her name was 'Arcanimus'.

Arcadier was originally male. This was changed as a result of not wanting all the Elder Guardians to be male, despite the source material depicting all of the Elders to be masculine. Arcadier still retained these features and is a rather masculine female. As a nod to her origin, she is in-universe a transgender female.

Though she magically transitioned in her early 20s, she presented female with feminine pronouns since before her teens. Her current masculine features do not bother her - her gender incongruence was more of an inconvenience, discomfort - a constant itch. At her transition she finally felt right, and she has never once regretted it. In fact, she barely remembers being born male.

Because dragon names are never gender exclusive (though often lean one way or the other), Arcadier never changed her name.

Before her ascension to Guardianhood, she was often confused for a male (due to her chin spikes, which are very uncommon on females - not a result of her birth sex, it was simply a trait of her bloodline and are present on her female descendants). The confusion usually lifted when she spoke - she has a deep but distinctly feminine voice.
